What is H.I.R.T.S.®?
The idea for the High Intensity Rope Training System (H.I.R.T.S.) came to Ivan Ivanov when he was working with young
wrestlers in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1 999. He created and improved the H.I.R.T.S. while working as a wrestling coach at the
Olympic Training and Education Center in Marquette, Michigan.
Based on his knowledge and results by training with elastic resistance bands, Ivanov created the H.I.R.T.S. trainer mostly for
pulling and pushing exercises for lower and upper body.
Since 1 999, Ivanov has been using the H.I.R.T.S. trainer for different
types of strength and conditioning workouts from youth to world class wrestling and also for anyone who loves to exercise
and stay fit. Since the first model of the H.IR.T.S. trainer to the current model, Ivan has continued to modify the H.I.R.T.S.
trainer with more elements for the sole purpose of making the most effective and productive training tool possible and he
has the results to prove it.
The horizontal rope pulling/climbing, along with interval training for the legs such as sprints, jumps and body attacks corresponding with wrestling moves were the signature exercises on the original H.I.R.T.S. Trainer. Over time, Suples Ltd., led by
Ivan Ivanov, was able to develop the H.I.R.T.S. trainer into one of the best training tools on the market.
H.I.R.T.S.® – 1
H.I.R.T.S. 1 was mostly developed for pulling with the arms/horizontal rope climbing and pulling with the legs/intense sprints-interval training, long jumps-power training. HIRTS 1 was also effective with partner pulling exercises as well and some different strength and flexibility exercises performed with the H.I.R.T.S. handles. At this time the HIRTS training was mostly designed for high caliber Greco Roman Wrestlers who were trained by Ivan Ivanov at the Olympic Training and Education Center in City of Marquette, Northern Michigan University.
H.I.R.T.S.® – 2
From the period of 2009 – 2011 Ivan Ivanov had implemented the H.I.R.T.S. into the strength and conditioning workouts for his wrestling team. Ivan was able to see the need to implement new H.I.R.T.S. elements in order to improve the functionality of the HIRTS trainer. The new implemented elements for H.I.R.T.S. -2 were the individual handles, the extra waist belt and the wooden bar. The new and improved H.I.R.T.S. (with its new elements) offered much more productive and effective work workouts. H.I.R.T.S. 2 was also noticed not only from wrestling coaches but also from people who were searching for new functional training tools not only for wrestling and combat sports but also for general fitness. With the new improved H.I.R.T.S. -2 Ivan added his first H.I.R.T.S. instructional DVD along with his H.I.R.T.S. training routines DVD.
H.I.R.T.S.® Suples Strong
H.I.R.T.S. Suples Strong (can be called H.I.R.T.S.-3) is the latest H.I.R.T.S. model. All of the years training Ivan Ivanov was able to experience training on the HIRTS not only with world caliber athletes but also with fitness enthusiasts who are seeking new challenging ways to exercise, stay healthy, and stay fit.
